Seraphine & David

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of driving out to the edge of the earth, which is anything west of 495 if you are from the Boston area, for the wedding of Seraphine and David at the Publik House in Sturbridge, MA. The skys were cloudy and looked like rain as I got on the road early that morning and I hoped Seraphine was not streesing over her outdoor wedding. By the time I got out there the sun had broken through the clouds and we were treated with perfect Springtime weather.

Seraphine and David had planned a wedding that perfectly blended the jewish and Chinese traditions of marriage. The shuang-hsi, or Double happiness symbol was prevelant on programs and in Seraphines room where she was getting ready. Following Jewish tradition, David arrived at Seraphine’s parent’s room to collect her and led her downstairs to sign the katubah (with fingers crossed mind you). :) After a few family formals the ceremony took place under a blue and white tallit (prayer shawl) and Chinese red dragons adorned on a red silk cloth that hung from the chuppah.

Ok enough of me rambling on. I am sure people would much rather look at some photos from the day.
