Jenna & Jason
I was out chasing the big white dress early last week with a trip out to Zukas’ Hilltop Barn in Spencer, MA on Friday for the wedding of Jenna & Jason. The day started normally enough: traffic was light the sky was blue and the temperature in the mid 70s–a perfect day for a wedding. By the time i got to the Hampton Inn in Sturbridge the sky had turned from blue sky and puffy clouds to downpours (which was never mentioned by the weather man that morning of course!). With the rapidity of the storm I tried to console Jenna that the storm would probably pass quickly. Even so the weather channel was the only thing on in her hotel room while she got ready. By the time the makeup was on, her dress donned and the guys poker game cleaned up (which I was so bummed I missed) things had started to dry out again. Though it did rain once more at the tail end of pre-ceremony photos, the clouds parted in time for their ceremony in front of the gazebo at Zukas. Jenna and Jason were a delight to work with. From swinging on the swing to back-flips (yes back-flips–photos to follow) on the lawn and dancing the night away under the tent I could not have asked for a better couple to document their wedding day.
Thanks goes first and foremost to Lynn Zukas and her staff for once again putting together a great event. I also wanted to thank Jackson Gonda for being an easy videographer to work with and Ken Duket of “Champaign Toast” for spinning the tunes that kept everyone glued to the dance floor. Spencer Flowers provided the “greenery”.
Here are some highlights from the day:

Jenna and jason wanted to get all the photos out of the way before the ceremony so they could spend more time at the cocktail hour with their family and friends. When this happens, I usually suggest doing a “first look” with the bride coming up from behind. I it always a great moment not to be missed.

Jason and the guys looking suave.

Jenna getting a swing from Jason. She was a real sport and let him give her an “under dog” but wise enough not to do it a second time. ![]()

A great shot of Jason realizing his world is about to change (for the better).

Cupcake cake (that’s what I had at my wedding!) by Karen Moore.

I like this shot. They were just standing there while I was setting up a light. This photo was taken moments after Jenna voiced her opinion on what photo she wanted to do next….

I know it is really a back hand-spring and not a back-flip but come on, in a wedding dress!? This is what happens when your bride is both a gymnast and incorrigible. ![]()

I don’t know what he was saying to the bride but his expression is priceless!
Well that’s about it. The slideshow and full edit is over on the proofing page: www.proofs.craigmolwaystudios.com. The password is Jenna’s maiden name. If you sign up for a user account (no charge and more importantly, no spam) you can view the images in both color and B&W as well as save your favorites and compare images side-by-side.
Once again congratulations to Jenna and Jason!
P.S. Have fun in Aruba. And if you are reading this while you are there have a mojito at Moombas or Pete’s Pier and watch the sunset. If you are staying in Oranjestad just say no to scooters and get a cab for the trips between the casinos and hotels. Lastly, if you could bring me back a post card that would be great!
Cheers!
Craig
