Molly & Zack
Last Friday Johnny and I were all the way out in Groton, MA for the wedding of Molly and Zack. The wedding ceremony and reception was at the Barn at Gibbit Hill. Though still a working dairy farm with Holstein cattle lining the fields in the background, barn itself was renovated recently in 2004 into a restaurant and function hall. It was a pretty cool place to hold a wedding. Molly and her bridesmaids got ready down the road at the Westford Regency hotel. After arriving at the Barn, Molly and I had some time to take some bridals before the ceremony. The sun was low on the horizon and provided some beautiful golden light to show off her fabulous dress. I really liked the dresses her bridesmaids chose for the wedding too. Instead of going with the standard BM dresses, they shopped around until they found these great green and gold dresses at Nordstrom’s that had great gold detailing that reminded me somehow of Indian saris. The best part of everyone’s dresses was the simple fact that they all had straps. I love gowns and dresses with straps and it is refreshing to see the style making a comeback.
The ceremony itself was a custom tailored affair that was accented with personal touches that included letters from Molly and Zack’s parents that were read to the happy couple by their minister. There was not a dry eye in the house. After the ring exchange he also did something I have not seen done recently. He had the parents pledge vows to the new members of their prospective families (”To always be there when needed and not be there when not needed…”) which I thought was great.
After some relaxed family portraits and a session with Molly and Zack that included a set of photos that had them wedged between two cars in the parking lot (I challenge you to watch the slide show and try to pick out the photos) we retired to the reception. They had a great band called the “Pre-Nups”. I was told by Johnny, who is no slouch when it comes to the local music , that the band was a veritable “who’s-who” of the local Boston music scene. The Pre-Nups did not disappoint. Their music and high energy kept people on the dance floor all night. Zack also added to the music by bringing down the house with his harmonica by ripping up “Good Golly Miss Molly” for his new bride–it was great.
With the Red Sox season at full tilt, Molly and Zack will have to be content with a small trip to Nantucket. After the season is over and Zack gets a small break before the spring trades gear up, they are planning to jet off to Belize.

Congratulations once again to Molly & Zack!
Cheers!
